How do I stop alerts for messages in my Yahoo! Personals mailbox every time I log onto Yahoo! Messenger?

For several days now, I have been getting a message saying I have 116 new messages in my Yahoo! Personals mailbox. However, there are no messages there when I check. Actually, there are no messages at all. Which is probably because I have never signed up for Yahoo! Personals, nor do I want it. Does anyone have any idea how I can make this stop?
