Why does the NFL seem to cater to country music fans?

Look what happens when they bring the popstars in (ie. janet jackson). Prince is playing at the superbowl. The NFL has to find music that appeals to a wide fan base, I would guess that they found Darryl Worley did that (or maybe he sang for free).
