Need a knowledgeable dog lover to help..?

we have been to two vets..spent over a thousand dollars and medicine is 90.00 a month and not helping..our sweet chow mix has hair follicle mites..derminex? i think it is called..he has bitten his fur off to nothing..i want to have him put to sleep..he is a sweet happy dog but suffering..any natural cures that might work..oh,there is no cure..only management..i cant deal with this..and he smells so bad..hes had bathes,medicine..someone must have gone thru this.
